Pegboards for the Entry Way
I'm sure you've seen those mail/paper/key catchers at Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel, or even Homegoods (my preferred place to shop!). The problem with these is the ready-made-ness of the products: you have a certain amount of space already built into the organizer.
A better option is the DIY method. Install a pegboard, a bin to catch mail and paper work, and a pretty bowl to hold your keys. This way, you'll be customizing the items to fit your space, rather than trying to fit your... stuff into someone else's design.
