Plum and Prune Equivalents

Many fruits may be substituted for plums

Peaches, nectarines, apricots, mangos, cherries, plumcots (plum and apricot hybrid), and pluots (another plum-apricot hybrid closer to a plum) may be substituted for plums in equal measure for most recipes.

Plum and Prune Equivalents

• 1 pound plums = 6 to 8 two-inch whole plums
• 1 pound plums = 2-1/2 cups sliced plums
• 1 pound plums = 2 cups cooked plums
• 1 pound pitted prunes = 2-1/2 cups
• 1 pound pitted prunes = 4 to 4-1/2 cups cooked prunes
