Two part silicone mold putty is the fastest way to make detailed casting molds of miniature parts. It is often used for repeating items made from polymer clay or various casting metals. Molds made from the putty will last for many years and take only a few minutes to make. Easy and safe to use it is available with a variety of setting times and heat tolerances. Molds for food products can be made from foodsafe forms of the putty.
The only downside of two part silicone mold putty is that it works... best for simple press molds. It can be used for full molds if you wrap the object to be molded carefully, making sure the thickness of the material does not shift as it is wrapped over the master.
