These St. Patrick's Day Rainbow Candy Tubes make the perfect gift for teachers, coworkers, or friends! They're cute, fast, and can be made in bulk for easy gift-giving.
This isn't a craft that really requires a recipe, but I have provided approximate amounts to help you estimate how much candy you will need. I used glass tubes, purchased from a craft store, that were approximately 5 1/2-inches long and 1-inch wide. If you can't find tubes, you can also use decorative glasses or jars, and of course, be mindful of the recipients--use plastic instead of glass when appropriate. The amount of candy you need will vary depending on the size of your containers.
I am also offering the two candy tags as free printables! Click here to get the “Happy St. Patrick's Day” tag, and click here to get the “You're My Pot of Gold” tag. After you download them, print them out on cardstock, cut them out, poke a hole in the top, and attach them with twine or ribbon to your candy tubes.
- 16 oz M&Ms, Skittles, or similar candy
- 12 gold foil-covered Rolos
- 12 candy tubes or narrow jars (mine were 5.5" x 1")
Separate the candy by colors into individual bowls. I recommend using 5-6 colors for the best results. You can use M&Ms, Skittles, or a mix of the two.
Place a gold foil-covered Rolo in the bottom of a tube. Add a big pinch of one color of candies (for my tubes, this was about 6 candies) on top of the Rolo. Continue layering the colors, trying to make the layers about the same size, until you reach the top of the tube.
Fasten with the lid, and attach a tag.
