Manners and politeness were some of the first values most of us learned growing up, but we all have our individual strengths and weaknesses. Depending on the situation, it can be a little more obvious who is honestly very polite and who might have other priorities that they hold to a higher regard. Though politeness can manifest itself in different ways—saying a kind thought at an appropriate moment, listening intently to what someone else is saying, demonstrating proper social etiquette in timely situations—there are still some people who seem to have a stronger politeness streak than others.

You’re always going out of your way to put others' needs above your own, but what’s more, you just genuinely exude a polite and sweet persona. You want everyone to be comfortable and happy, and even if it might benefit you to speak up from time to time, you’d much rather be polite and be the bigger person than risk being rude.

    You have a soft spot for others and their feelings, Pisces. You like to keep things relaxed, and when it comes to manners and knowing how to dissolve unsettling moments, you know exactly what to do. Though you don’t like to follow a strict set of do’s and don’ts, your ultimate goal is to let people know how much you care for them and how important they are to you.     You’ve read all the books on etiquette, Virgo. You know the ins and outs on what should and shouldn’t be done. Though you can get a reputation for being a stickler and a little too intent on following things to the letter, no one can say that you aren’t polite or kind in your efforts. Despite that most might not consider you the most warm or friendly right off the bat, you still aren’t one to be arrogant or rude for the sake of it. People will know your thankfulness regarding any situations, and you’ll go out of your way to make sure every thank you note is mailed, every person who came to an event is acknowledged, and that everything is taken care of to the best of your ability.

    You don’t intend to be rude, and sometimes, even if it seems you’re trying to be, you truly aren’t. If you’re present in the moment and are thoughtfully involved in it, then you have no problem being polite and truly follow culturally appropriate etiquette down to a T. On the other hand, you can also be so caught up in other moments, like what you want to talk about or what you’re going to do next, that you may let the more polite things slip from time to time.     You have a blunt streak, and that’s for sure, Capricorn. People know you aren’t afraid to tell it like it is. Yet, you also live by a strong idea of treating others the way you would want to be treated, so some might be surprised at how polite you can be in your efforts. You will do whatever is considered appropriate in a given situation. Your attention to detail and strong admiration of tradition give you an edge at being proper and polite when it comes to getting things taken care of and respecting others. However, you won’t be polite merely for its own sake—if someone is rude to you, you’ll return the favor right back.

    You aren’t exactly concerned with the proper do’s and don’ts of etiquette, but that doesn’t mean you’re an impolite person. You care very much for people and the world around you, and you want to make it a better place, so your politeness may not look the way others expect. You have a tendency to come off as a little cold and rigid, which may throw others off. You have your own way of being polite, and you’ll only be rude if someone gets bent out of shape that you didn’t do things their way or if someone makes a big deal about things you just can’t see the point in.

    Aries, you don’t intend to be rude, but that doesn’t mean you always know your limits. You have a lot of thoughts and opinions, and you aren’t afraid to share them—even if it means talking over others to get there. You usually are more excited than intentionally rude, but because you’re action-oriented and a bit clumsy or not self-aware (you've been known to spill drinks at parties), you may not come off as polite to most at first. Only once they get to know you will they recognize that you’re just more excitable and used to leading the moment rather than just simply listening.

    To most, you wouldn’t seem rude at all, but it’s only because people never see it at first glance. You will be kind and polite when you’re unbothered, but if someone gets a little under your skin, the claws can come out. You certainly won’t strive to make a scene, but you also tend to bite your tongue when things bother you. Once you reach a boiling point, you won’t feel remorseful about setting people straight, no matter how it may look on you. You’re proper, but you’re not going to be walked on, either.

    Though you are a kind heart, Scorpio, you’re also very private. While privacy doesn’t immediately translate to rudeness, it does put a wall up right from the start. You don’t see the point in doing things for people just to look polite—your kindness is extremely intentional and reserved.
