This ring pillow eliminates the need to fuss with tying and un-tying ribbons during the ceremony. The pillow shown here was used at my daughters wedding.
    • Desired fabric (two 11" squares for the pillow and additional strips if you are making roses to match
    • Sheer overlay fabric (equal to the amount of fabric)
    • 1 1/2 yards or more of gathered lace for the pillow edge (The amount will vary depending on how you want to decorate the pillow)
    • Thread
    • Fiber filling (I recommend a brand name to prevent...MORE lumping that often happens with "bargain" brands)
    • Ribbon for decorating
    • Fabric roses
    • Flocked ring box (you may also cover a small square jewelry box with matching fabric)
    • Hot glue
    • 7" of 1/2" to 1" wide ribbon
    • Optional: disappearing pen (Note: always test on a scrap of fabric)

Cutting and Lace Instructions. Debbie Colgrove, Licensed to About.com
    • Cut an 11" by 11" square of fabric. Note: If you are using a sheer overlay as pictured here, layer the fabrics and work them as one fabric. Baste the layers together if it makes it easier for you to work with.
    • Stitch lace to the edge of one of the fabric squares, stitching 1/2" from the edge. (Place the lace to the inside of the square so that the edge will be in the seam allowance)

    • Place 11" square pieces right sides together, aligning the edges.
    • Stitch 1/2" from the edge leaving a 3" opening on two sides of the square. Staggering the openings, towards opposing corners, makes it easier to stuff the pillow evenly.

    • Stuff the pillow from both sides. Hand stitch the openings closed.
    • Glue the box in the center.
    • On the back of the pillow, center the 7" piece of ribbon and hand stitch the ends in place so the ring bearer has something to hold on to.
    • Decorate as desired. For the pillow shown here, loops of ribbon with roses were used at each corner and on the top of the ring box.
