This is an easy meal to prepare with canned salmon and green beans. Add a potato dish to make a nice weeknight meal.

What You'll Need

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme leaves
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups thawed frozen cut green beans
  • 1 can (16 ounces) salmon, drained and flaked​

How to Make It

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt butter; blend in flour, salt, thyme, and pepper.
  2. Remove from heat; gradually stir in milk.
  3. Return to heat. Cook, stirring constantly, until bubbly. Let boil for about 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  4. Stir in green beans and salmon. Turn mixture into a buttered 1 1/2-quart casserole.
  5. Cover and bake at 375 F for 30 minutes, until hot and bubbly.
