A list of the best sensory activities for kids could never be complete without Play-Doh. Since the 1950's kids have been pinching, pulling and extruding this texture using their fingertips and molds. Younger children might be happier to squeeze, pound, twist and pull Play-Doh in their fingertips. For older kids looking for more specific play, there are many Play-doh sets that include Disney Princesses, My Little Pony, Transformers and Star Wars characters. Sets now frequently include a few...MORE containers of Play-Doh Plus, a newer compound that makes extruding and decorating much easier.

    Doh-Vinci

Play Doh Doh Vinci Styler and Deco Pop Tubes
    Keri Wilmot

Doh-Vinci is the next step for kids who love sensory activities and decorating, but are aging out of traditional Play-Doh sets. Doh-Vinci includes a variety of Deco-Pop tubes that are used in conjunction with an extruder, which looks similar to a glue gun. Kids place the container in the styler, then squeeze out the substance, in which they can decorate items for their room or gifts for family members such as picture frames. Additional decorative tips, much like you might see when decorating...MORE cupcakes, can be added to the end of the Deco-Pop container for more creative control. However, clean up any leftovers because if it is left out overnight, Doh-Vinci will dry out. Unlike other sensory textures it will leave behind a unique and priceless long-term memento.

Doh Vinci is available on Amazon.

The manufacturer states that It is made of hypoallergenic properties which include mineral oil. Many children adore this texture as well, but it can leave slightly more reside on a child's hands. The texture to me is more reminiscent of an airy, gritty cloud-like texture, and can leave slightly more residue on a child's hands when...MORE playing.
