Ham and Cheese Biscuit Sandwiches. Grilled Cheese Social

Flaky biscuits, smokey fried ham, buttery muenster cheese and sweet honey butter makes these miniature Southern sandwiches perfect for picnics, parties, and/or feeding a hungry group of people. Each bite is packed with Southern goodness and the heart shape adds an extra layer of fun. I recommend serving them with mimosas and a few of your favorite hot sauces.

They're best made fresh, but you can make them a day in advance as long as they're kept cool in the refrigerator.

    Fried Chicken and Biscuit Sandwich

Fried Chicken and Biscuit. Grilled Cheese Social

There's nothing quite like a fried chicken and biscuit sandwich. It's crispy, rich, comforting, and it's probably known as one of the best sandwiches that's ever existed. The fried chicken in this dish is doused with a hot honey which adds a sweet and spicy depth that is completely irresistible. And when it's all piled on top of a buttery biscuit, you'll understand why it's the perfect meal for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

This sandwich was inspired by one of my favori...MOREte fried chicken and biscuit sandwiches from Heavy Woods in Brooklyn, NY.

Breakfast Sandwich with Brisket, a Fried Egg, Chow Chow and Pork Rinds

Pork Rind Breakfast Sandwich. Grilled Cheese Social

Airy fried pork rinds, sweet and tangy BBQ brisket, zesty Southern chow chow, bacon-infused gouda crisped up on a toasted English Muffin and a rich sunny-side up egg makes up this crazy Southern breakfast sandwich. It may look like something that was made on a late night munchy fest in a Frat house in South Georgia, but I assure you that this sandwich is more than a drunken mouthful. Serve alongside an ice cold brass monkey – that's a cocktail made with a 40 ounce of Old English mixed with...MORE some fresh (or let's be real – boxed) orange juice and a couple of advil. Enjoy!

Bacon, Lettuce + Tomato with Basil Aioli on Brioche. Grilled Cheese Social

Big crispy slices of country-style bacon, fresh thick slices of salted tomato, sweet, crisp butter lettuce, and a basil aioli that makes you want to lick the bowl all come together between two buttery halves of a brioche bun. If you thought a regular old BLT was good, wait until you try this one!

The beautiful thing about these sandwiches? Not only do they hold up really well, but they also taste better as it sits. I imagine this is a result of all the flavors melding and coming together over...MORE an extended period of time... eh hem more like everything starts to taste like bacon... but yeah, this is basically my favorite version of a BLT and I'm pretty certain you will love it, too.

BBQ Brisket, Mac n Cheese + Cornbread Melt

BBQ Brisket and Mac n Cheese Melt. Grilled Cheese Social

This Southern Style Sandwich is not for the faint of heart. Not only is it huge, but it's also got everything that's good between two warm slices of cornbread. Sweet and tangy BBQ Brisket melts in your mouth while creamy and rich macaroni and cheese adds an extra layer of fat kid love. The green onion is there not only to add color but to also help cut through some of the richness from this sandwich. I recommend serving this hunky sandwich alongside a salad. And only a salad. Oh, and...MORE maybe a beer if you're living life without regret.

BBQ Brisket, Coleslaw + Fried Okra Sandwich

Crispy fried okra, smothered sweet and tangy barbecue brisket, and creamy coleslaw come together to make probably the most monstrous sandwich I've ever dreamt up. Sure, it may be too big to fit in your mouth but that's ok because cleanliness is no concern when this Southern delight. Actually, the sloppier the better! So go ahead and embrace the mess  – put on a bib, grab a beer, turn on some tunes, kick back + dig in.

And a word to the lazy (or wise depending on which way you look...MORE at it!), this sandwich can be made from scratch by following the instructions through the links below, or you can easily pick up the ingredients from your local BBQ joint and assemble it yourself. Either way you do it, both of the results will be utterly delicious and whoever you're feeding will probably propose to you. Basically this sandwich is a gift from the sandwich Gods but trust me, this sandwich is so filling (and chocked full of calories) that it should probably only be eaten on special occasions or when you want to eat something that will make you forget about all your worries. It's good for those sort of occasions if you get my drift.

Pulled Pork Sandwiches with Pickled Red Onions and Mustardy BBQ

Pulled Pork Sandwiches with Pickled Red Onions and Mustardy BBQ. Grilled Cheese Social

These slow cooker pulled porksandwiches are totally insane - they're cooked down in a bath of Dr. Pepper and chipotle peppers, chili powder, garlic, and plenty of salt which basically means that they're packed with flavor. Sweet, salty, savory, and all the good things you could ever imagine, this recipe probably doesn't even need sauce but the tanginess of the mustard-based barbecue sauce and pickled red onions, well, that adds an extra level of depth which helps balance out the...MORE sweetness of the sandwich. It's the best, trust me.
