Stocking your home bar doesn't have to be expensive. There are some great whiskies available at very affordable prices and for $100 you can set up a well-rounded whiskey selection that will be versatile, impressive and fun.

Here are some great affordable whiskies that will let you stock your bar without breaking the bank.

Bourbon Whiskey

Evan Williams Black Label is a very versatile bourbon and at only $12 a bottle, it is a bargain.

Enjoyable either on its own or mixed in a cocktail, this is one of the great values on the market and a nice bourbon to keep in stock.

American Rye Whiskey

Rittenhouse 100 Proof Bottled-in-Bond Rye packs a wallop of spicy notes and makes one of the best Manhattan cocktails you can make for the price. At $15 a bottle, it is twice the rye some of its more expensive competitors claim to be.

Canadian Whisky

Canadian Mist Whisky was the only double gold medal winner in Canadian whisky at the 2009 San Francisco World Spirits Competition and it is one of the best whiskies for cocktails that you will find. Light, versatile and mixable, it's a steal at $12 a bottle.

Irish Whiskey

Bushmill's Irish Whiskey runs about $21 and is a classic name in Irish whiskey that is worth the money. A sure thing in an Irish Coffee and a great addition to your home bar.

Blended Scotch Whisky

Ballantine's is one of the best values for blended Scotch.

At about $18 a bottle, it is perfect when mixed with soda and yet it also has enough complexity to be enjoyed on its own.

Single Malt Scotch Whisky

There are no 'value' brand single malt scotches on the market. Instead of spending money on a full 750ml bottle, look for a smaller bottle of one of the great names in whisky for this selection.

A 375 ml bottle of The Glenlivet 12 Year won't empty your wallet at $22, but it's a great selection to have on hand for special occasions and entertaining.

Now Enjoy Your $100 Whiskey Bar

All told, you can easily stock up on these whiskey selections for approximately $100. You'll get great quality whiskies that you and your guests will be able to savor and enjoy, and more importantly, you won't go broke buying them.
