I buy garlic in bulk because I use it so often in my cooking. By storing garlic properly, the taste and texture are preserved.
The first thought for many people is to store garlic bulbs in the crisper drawer of the refrigerator or in the freezer. The cold temperature spoils the taste as well as the texture of the garlic cloves.
Garlic is best stored in a cool, dry place. When I come home from the supermarket, I immediately take the garlic bulbs and place them in an airtight container or plastic baggie.
I then store them in a cabinet, ensuring a cool dark environment.
