It’s hard to know whether to bake sweet treats for Valentine’s Day or to succumb to the lure of all of those amazing candy offerings out there. Despite my normally sweets-in-moderation philosophy, on Halloween and Valentine’s Day, all bets are off.
Here are some of the lovely candy presents we’ll be planning to give and share with our family and family friends this Valentine’s Day.

And I’m sure I’ll be preheating the oven as well. Here are some ideas for homemade baked goods to sweeten up this holiday a bit more:
Brown Sugar Chocolate Chip Shortbread Cookies - Simple and sweet.
Rice Krispies Emoji Treats - Give someone a real-life heart emoji or wink!
Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies - It’s like someone took the most beloved three cookies in the world and smushed them into one.
Chewy Sugar Cookies - Simple, unshow-offy sugar cookies are not to be understimated.
Big... Fat Chocolate Chunk Cookies - If cookies were to elect their king, it would undoubtedly be the chocolate chip cookie.
Stackers - Two layers make up one amazing brownie. A fudgy chocolate layer on the bottom, and a blondie layer with Butterfinger baking bits on the top.
Molten Chocolate Peanut Butter Cakes - Nothing can describe the pure excitement of cutting into a cake with a melted center.
