This tandoori cod recipe is simple to prepare and delicious as well. Enjoy with your favorite rice dish or with grilled vegetables.

What You'll Need

  • 4-6 cod fillets (cut into 1 1/2 chunks)
  • For the Marinade:
  • 1 cup/240 mL plain yogurt
  • 1/4 cup/60 mL olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 2 teaspoons/10 mL ginger (fresh, grated)
  • 2 teaspoons/10 mL cumin (ground)
  • 2 teaspoons/10 mL coriander (ground)
  • 1 teaspoon/5 mL red pepper (or mild chili powder)
  • 1 teaspoon/5 mL turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon/5 mL sea salt
  • For the Garnish:
  • 1/2 onion (small red, cut into thin rings)
  • 1/4 cup/60 mL cilantro (leaves)

How to Make It

Combine all marinade ingredients in medium bowl. Place fish pieces inside of bowl, coat well with mixture, cover with plastic wrap, and let marinate in the refrigerator for 1 hour.

Preheat grill for medium-high heat. Place fish pieces in a grill wok and cook for about 9 minutes. When fish is opaque, toss fish with heat resistant utensils, and cook for an additional 5 to 7 minutes. Remove from heat and serve topped with red onion slices and cilantro leaves.
