Taylor Swift: California Girl
Taylor Swift bought a house in Beverly Hills in late April 2011 for $3.5 million. While Swift still has close ties to her family and home in Nashville (where she reportedly bought them a historic estate for $2.5 million in August 2011) the recording star also put down roots in Los Angeles, where many of her close friends reside. She had a townhouse in Manhattan's West Village at the time of the purchase and once owned a mansion in Rhode Island.
At one of her concerts at LA's Staples Center in August 2011, Swift told the crowd: "You're really nice people here," according to The Los Angeles Times. "So, thought I'd make it official."
During Swift's North American 2011 tour, the singer spent about 10 days enjoying her new digs, performing four sold-out concerts at LA's Staples Center in late August. Taylor was spotted around town dining with friends like actress Reese Witherspoon and flea market shopping near Fairfax and Melrose avenues.
At Taylor's August 24th show in Los Angeles, friends like actress Emma Stone, JoJo, and actor Penn Badgley were spotted in the audience. In a tribute to Southern California, Swift sang The Beach Boys ballad "God Only Knows."
When not touring, country/pop singer/songwriter Taylor Swift had made Nashville, Tennessee, her home. But increasingly, Swift spent more time in Los Angeles recording, filming, attending awards shows, and socializing with friends like GiGi Hadid. Swift was also spotted at a Lakers' game and an NHL hockey game with "Glee" star Chord Overstreet around the time of the purchase.Continue to 2 of 5 below.

A Place in LA That Taylor Swift Calls 'Mine'
The house Taylor Swift bought in Beverly Hills has the appeal of a relaxing country estate. A quick look at the other listings of million-dollar homes in Beverly Hills reveals why this particular house on North Beverly Drive appealed to the Nashville resident. While most are Spanish-style, Mediterranean, contemporary, Midcentury Modern or customized remodels, Taylor Swift found herself a house on a 1.36-acre lot that looks like one of the fancier homes in Country Living Magazine. Which, if you're familiar with Los Angeles real estate, is not that easy to find.Continue to 3 of 5 below.

Country Living in the City
The description from the real estate listing describes the four-bedroom, four-bath home as an East Coast Traditional that "exudes warmth and charm reminiscent of the New England countryside. Pass through the gates, travel down a long pea gravel driveway and retreat from the chaos of the nearby city."
Another description calls the home's style as "Cape Cod Colonial," although it doesn't really look like either style. How about Big 'Ole Country Cottage? Back to that gate: its placement is more for charm and effect like an archway or trellis serves as a visual signal that a transition awaits. In this instance, it's simply the stepping stones across the sea of grass.Continue to 4 of 5 below.

Taylor Swift's Brick Patio Paradise
While Taylor Swift's large (by Los Angeles standards) property does not have a swimming pool, there certainly are plenty of places on the grounds to build one, should she ever decide to go the "stars and swimming pools" route.
In the meantime, Swift can kick back, barbecue with friends and enjoy the good life on this classic brick patio.Continue to 5 of 5 below.

Romantic Vine-Covered Arbor
Taylor Swift need not look any further than this romantic vine-covered arbor covering a patio for inspiration when writing a new song. If it's a scented vine—all the better. Can't you picture her using the arbor as a setting for a music video?
With the Southern California climate, a vine can bloom for up to three seasons and stay green for all four. A brick patio gives the property a certain old-fashioned charm and may have added to the property's appeal to Swift.
In addition to the main house, the estate includes a guest house, which has one bedroom, one bathroom, a living room, and a kitchen.
