Aubree Says
When Chelsea DeBoer, fan favorite on MTV’s reality series Teen Mom 2, and her husband Cole began building their dream home, they quickly realized they had a problem. “We literally knew nothing about anything,” she said during a FaceTime interview on Jan. 25, shortly before giving birth to her fourth child the same day.
The couple knew what style they liked and how they wanted their house to look, but were at a loss for finding products they both loved for their space. So to get the perfect cozy, lived-in look they were striving for, DeBoer thought: why not create their own decor?
She took her design experience learned from working on a collaboration with baby product brand Itzy Ritzy, and started working on her own business in August. Now, just five months later, her brand Aubree Says launched its first line of home goods and accessories on Jan. 25.
“It just seemed like such a fun opportunity to take, to try to do our own thing and make our own products,” she said.
Named after her firstborn daughter, the brand strives to turn houses into homes—not only for DeBoer’s own family, but for everyone.
The winter collection features throws, candles, slippers, wall decor and more—items perfect for cold South Dakotan winters, where the DeBoers are based. Though the collection just made its debut, DeBoer is already looking ahead to what’s next for the brand: baby items, throws and “everything cozy.”
“I feel like I’ve had things planned since we started building this house,” she said. “I have ideas. The possibilities are just endless; I can see so many things in my head.”
Here are five standouts from the Aubree Says launch.
-
Chunky Sunshine Throw
Aubree Says
This bright and sunny $62 blanket is the perfect thing to curl up with during overcast winter days. And the woven texture and large size (it measures 50-by-60-inches) means it’s perfect for family movie nights. When it’s not in use, drape it over your couch for a fun splash of color.
-
Snuggle Time Flag
Aubree Says
DeBoer wants every wall of her house to have some kind of artwork on it, so this felt flag is a lifesaver. At $46, it only takes two nails to hang them up (no frame needed!), so you can spend less time decorating and more time snuggling.
-
Pillow Fort Campfire Candle
Aubree Says
Picture this: a pillow fort in the living room, twinkle lights for ambience and a burning candle to complete the hygge feel. This $23 hand-poured candle has a base of sage and bitter stem, with top notes of rosemary and mint. Your nose will thank you.
-
Overslept Mug
Aubree Says
Whether you’re an early bird or don’t wake up until well after noon, we’re all bound to oversleep once in a while. So wake yourself up with a mug that’s cute, lightweight and holds up to 16 ounces of coffee. Fill ‘er up for $14.
