Behind the design with our cover star

Letter from the Editors

Renovations can mean a lot of things: spending lots of time and money, withstanding challenges with supply chains, and bursting with joy once you see your hard work pay off. It may mean learning a new skill like how to paint walls like a pro or finally settling on your personal design style. Whatever renovating your home means to you, it’s also a chance to celebrate change and new beginnings.

It’s only fitting that our inaugural cover star, the award-winning country singer Kelsea Ballerini joins us for "The Renovation Issue." Her new album, SUBJECT TO CHANGE, is all about embracing challenges and transitions in your own life. No stranger to a home redesign herself, Kelsea graciously takes us through her Nashville abode, filled with personal touches, stunning wallpaper, and plenty of guest appearances by her dog, Dibs.

Throughout the rest of the issue, we’ll teach you how to assemble your own reno dream team, give you plenty of design inspo, and of course, teach you a few hacks along the way. Who knew you could fake a kitchen reno with some easy DIYs?

We hope you enjoy this celebration of all things home renovation as much as we enjoyed putting it together for you. We can’t wait for you to dig in.

Final Sweep

If I had one house tip, it would be to get it dirty. Houses are made to be lived in. The point is to have a space that you’re filling up with memories and people that you love.
