This delicious dressing is perfect with sliced tomatoes, making a quick and easy side dish for any cookout or summer meal.

The dressing is a snap to put together. Just mix and refrigerate the sour cream dressing until you're ready to serve. Slice the tomatoes and arrange them on a plate with a small bowl of the sour cream dressing on the side for family or friends to serve themselves.

The dressing is versatile and goes well with many other foods. Serve the sour cream dressing with fresh sliced cucumbers as well, or serve it with baked salmon fillets.

  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream, light or full fat
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill, or about 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of dried dill
  • dash freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon grated red onion or sweet onion
  • 3 to 4 large fresh tomatoes, thinly sliced

How to Make It

  1. In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, dried dill, salt, pepper, and onion. Stir to blend.
  2. Cover and refrigerate the sour cream dressing until serving time.
  3. Serve the sour cream and dill dressing with the sliced tomatoes or serve it along with fish, cucumbers, or a tossed salad. It's especially nice with salmon, or with a salad with grilled salmon.
