Tofu is a staple of many Asian and vegetarian cuisines, it's also known as bean curds to some. It's made from soy milk curds that are pressed into blocks. Tofu is high in protein which makes it so popular in vegetarian cooking, it's also a versatile ingredient. When compared to animal protein it was found that tofu is better at lowering bad cholesterol. As long as you have no sensitivity to soy, tofu can be a great addition to your diet.
