This elegant and moist Turkey Sausage Meatloaf is delicious and easy, and it has more flavor that traditional turkey meat loaves because it combines ground turkey with turkey sausage. You can make this recipe mild or spicy, depending on the type of turkey sausage you buy.

The carrots add color, texture, flavor, and nutrition to this easy recipe, but you can substitute other veggies if you'd like. Some finely chopped bell peppers, or some chopped summer squash would be good changes.

Serve this updated meatloaf recipe with a green salad, some dinner rolls, and a nice chocolate pie for dessert.

What You'll Need

  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup soft bread crumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup fresh chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 pound turkey sausage
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey mustard mustard
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

How to Make It

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 9x13" baking pan with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.

3. Add the ground turkey and turkey sausage to the mixture in the bowl and mix gently with your hands just until combined.

4. Shape into a large loaf about 2-1/2" high. Place in prepared pan. Mix the ketchup, brown sugar, honey mustard, and pepper in a small bowl and spread over the meatloaf.

5. Bake the meatloaf for 45-60 minutes or until thoroughly cooked and meat thermometer registers 165°F.

6. Cover the meatloaf with foil and let rest 10 minutes before slicing.
