The Henkel and Purex Laundry Story
Purex offers a full line of laundry products including liquid laundry detergent, single dose laundry detergents, laundry detergent powder, liquid fabric softeners, dryer sheets and Purex Crystals in-wash scent booster.
Henkel is an international company that produces adhesives, cleaning products and personal care products around the world. Many familiar United States brands - Loctite, Soft Scrub, Dial Soap, Right Guard, Soft 'n Dri - are products of Henkel.
The name Purex was coined in 1923 for a chlorine bleach developed by Lionel and Ray Precourt. By 1946, the Purex company added their first powdered laundry detergent, Trend. In 1975 liquid laundry detergents hit the shelves and the Purex brand has continued to grow and offer new products.
Ultra Purex 2 Stain Fighter and Color Booster Product Review
I found Ultra Purex 2 Stain Fighter and Color Booster powdered formula to be an effective stain remover and color booster for laundry.
I was particularly pleased with the way white clothes came out looking brighter. It is well-priced and often costs less than other brand name oxygen bleaches.
I actually prefer a powdered oxygen-based formula over a liquid formula because liquid formulas can lose cleaning potency after a period of time and break down to simple water. Powdered oxygen bleach formulas are much more stable.
I often use a color safe bleach in a pre-soak solution to remove stains and whiten clothes. The formula is much more gentle on fabrics than chlorine bleach. The key to successful use is patience. Mix the solution and submerge the stained items and allow them to soak for at least one hour - overnight is even better because oxygen bleach is slow acting. It is also an essential component in removing dye transfer stains when that red sock ends up in a load of white clothes.
I would recommend that Ultra Purex 2 Stain Fighter and Color Booster (oxygen bleach) find a spot on your laundry room shelves. Oxygen bleach is an essential for the laundry room and save many garments from stains and dinginess.
