When the feng shui use of color red is too intense for your home or office, go for the yellow and orange colors in your feng shui applications instead.

Colour orange is often called the "social" color, as it creates the feng shui energy to promote lively conversations and good times in your home. In the winter it reminds us of summertime dreams and adventures; it also resembles the cheerful flickering of deep and vibrant orange in the log fires. And, of course, the beauty of orange in all its splendor is manifested in the autumn, and you can borrow from nature's warming color palette to warm up your own home.

In feng shui, each color is an expression of one the five feng shui elements. Thus there are specific guidelines on how to use color to create good feng shui energy in any space.

Colour orange represents fire feng shui element, so the guidelines for the use of color orange are based on how the element of fire interacts with the other four elements in each bag area of a home or office.

Here are the dos and don ts of the use of color orange for good feng shui.

Use Color Orange Freely in the Following Bagua Areas:

A bit of warm orange is also welcomed in the Center of your home, as fire element energy nourishes the earth element of this area.

Avoid a Strong Presence of Color Orange in These Areas:

How are these feng shui color rules explained? It's simple. The color use guidelines are based on five element cycles, and it is easier than it sounds.

For example, the main element of West area of any space is Metal. For good feng shui, you always want to nurture the main element of each bag area. Because Fire element of orange color is stronger than Metal (it melts it), you will be mindful about limiting the use of fire color in the West. The same applies to Wood element areas of your bag (East and Southeast), they will not thrive with strong Fire color decor because Fire burns the Wood.

Of course, this does not mean that you should avoid color orange completely! You can sure place a beautiful orange vase in your West area mantel or a pair of small orange colored pots by your East facing main entrance. It means that you do not want the orange color to be too strong, or prominent, in these areas.

The vibrant and happy orange color is an excellent feng shui choice for the living room, dining, and kitchen, children's play area or anywhere in your space where you want to have a playful, lively and pulsating energy.

Usually, it is easier to bring orange color with feng shui decor accessories or just one feature wall, rather than a full room color.

The softness and warmth of orange make it a feng shui color easy to live with. At sunset, the light in orange-themed rooms becomes beautifully golden and truly magical - a nurturing feeling to cherish and remember.
