During a recent round of at-home testing, we took a close look at this appliance's power, portability, and features. We found that it handled indoor and outdoor tasks like a champ. It cleaned dirt after a plant was repotted, sucked up spilled water in the kitchen, and cleared off snow from our steps with the help of the detachable blower function. Now that spring is here, you probably aren’t worried too much about snow, but rest assured: this shop vac is a four-season tool. The blower can work just as well with leaves and other yard debris. It’s also the kind of machine you might want on hand to clean up excess water after minor plumbing or flooding issues. Not to mention, if you’re an active DIY-er or anticipating some big home projects, this Vacmaster wet-dry vacuum will be great for sawdust and other construction-related cleanup.

Vacmaster’s wet-dry vacuum functions similarly to a household canister vacuum, but with a couple adjustments. The 12-gallon basin of this model is significantly larger, and it’s designed with wheels to roll from room to room, or garage to yard. There is also a release valve at the bottom of the machine to drain water or any other liquid you might need to clean up, and you can also lift the top to empty it out as necessary. A variety of attachments are also included, like extension wands, a crevice tool for reaching corners, and a car nozzle for getting in between those tight spots in your car. We like how you can store some accessories right on the machine, which helps streamline cleaning sessions.

As useful as a machine like this can be, we understand it might not be for everyone. It’s pretty bulky, so it does take room to store and maneuver it, and it’s noisy when it’s in use. (Although—good news—there is an attachment included to muffle the sound.) It has a 12-foot power cord, so you might need the added benefit of an extension cord. However, we see these as small compromises given the very powerful and impressive performance you’ll get—especially at a sale price. The value of this shop vac just skyrocketed, so grab it while it's almost 50 percent off today for easy, breezy chores year-round.
