These delicious kebabs are seasoned with a combination of yogurt and spices. Yogurt is a great addition to any marinade because it's slight acidic nature helps to tenderize meat while the thickness holds herbs and spices in place. Serve these with warmed pitas or on a bed of fresh greens.

What You'll Need

  • 2 pounds/900 grams pork tenderloin cut into 2 inch squares
  • 2 cups/475 ml. plain yogurt
  • 1/4 cup/60 ml. minced onion
  • 2 tablespoons/30 ml. lemon juice
  • 2-3 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons/10 ml. grated ginger
  • 2 teaspoons/10 ml. sea salt
  • 2 teaspoons/10 ml. ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon/5 ml. coriander (ground)
  • 1/2 teaspoon/2.5 mL black pepper

How to Make It

  1. Combine yogurt with onion, lemon juice, ginger, garlic, salt, cumin, coriander, and black pepper in medium glass or plastic bowl.
  2. Place pork pieces into a resealable plastic bag and pour marinade over pork.
  3. Make sure all pieces are coated well, release air from the bag, seal and place into the refrigerator for 4-12 hours.
  4. Preheat grill.
  5. Thread marinated pork pieces onto skewers, about 4-5 pieces each depending on the length of skewer.
  1. Grill over a medium fire for about 25-30 minutes or until pork has cooked through (reaching an internal temperature of 140 degrees F/60 degrees C).
  2. Once cooked, removed from heat and allow to rest for 10 minutes (covered) before serving.
