Most carb lovers (translation: most people) tend to agree that croutons make everything better. Rarely would one encounter a salad or bowl of soup that wouldn't benefit from crunchy bits of seasoned and toasted bread. Sure, you can buy ready made croutons in a grocery store but homemade is so much better and very easy to make. And if crunchy toasted bread cubes are good, they're even better with za'atar seasoning. That combination of dried thyme, sumac, oregano, sesame seeds and salt...MORE that make up the most popular of Middle Eastern seasonings adds a blast of flavor to pretty much all savory foods.

Slice a couple of pieces of your favorite thick cut bread into 1" cubes, stir 1/2 teaspoon of za'atar seasoning into 2 tablespoons of olive oil, toss the bread cubes in the oil, place on a baking sheet and into a pre-heated 400 degree oven for about 10 minutes. Once done, toss them onto any of the servings suggestions below for extra deliciousness!
