When January rolls around, it’s time to take down all of the holiday decorations. While most items can be boxed and placed in the attic or basement, artificial Christmas trees need a little extra care. It’s important to find a good storage solution for your fake tree to keep it in good shape for years to come. We tested out one of the more budget-friendly options out there: the Zober Christmas Tree Storage Bag. We reviewed its capacity, design, durability, and mobility. Keep reading to see what we found. 

Design: Durable, festive colors 

The Zober Christmas Tree Storage Bag measures 48 x 15 x 20 inches, and it’s made of polyethylene plastic, which is extremely durable. This material protects from dust, insects, and moisture, ideal for storing in attics or basements. In using it, we could tell that it was not going to easily tear or rip. It’s also super easy to clean because it’s plastic—nothing is going to stain this material. 

As for the overall look, this tree storage bag looks somewhat cheap and is very simple. It has two handles and a two-way dual zipper on top. There is also a transparent card slot in the front for labeling what’s inside. Though the bag itself isn’t anything to brag about, we found that the festive colors were really fun. The red variety has green handles and a green zipper, and the green color option has red handles and a red zipper. 

Capacity: Fits most popular tree sizes

The Zober Christmas Tree Storage Bag tree storage bag caters to the average tree size, with a capacity for trees up to 7 feet tall. We actually found that this bag can hold up to a 7.5-foot tree; that’s what we put inside ours, and there was even room to spare. However, there weren’t any extra storage pockets for the tree’s metal stand or for other holiday decorations. 

While space wasn’t an issue, weight was. This bag is not easy to move if it gets too heavy. Fortunately, our 7.5-foot tree was lightweight, making the moving process easier. However, for a more expensive, heavier faux tree, this bag is not ideal. A larger tree would be extremely challenging to move around because there are no wheels on the bag to roll it, nor is there a handle on the end to drag it. The user has to have the upper body strength to lift the bag from the two handles on top, which is not an easy task.

Performance: Compact, good for storing

What we loved most about the Zober Christmas Tree Storage Bag was its compact size. Measuring only 48 inches long, we were surprised we could fit our entire collapsed 7.5-foot tree in such a small bag. The bag’s small size also came in handy when it came to storing. We were able to easily find a place for it in our downstairs closet on a top shelf.

We found that we needed to keep this bag horizontal and away from other items in our closet because it doesn’t have an upright frame to stand sideways or to protect the contents inside. If anything were to fall or lean against the bag while in storage, it could potentially bend the tree’s branches or needles out of place, which could lead to damage. 

Price: A great deal

This tree storage bag has an MSRP of about $15, but it can be found for less. Considering this bag efficiently and festively stores away average-sized artificial trees, this is a great deal. There’s also a five-year limited warranty on all Zober items. So if there are any defects, this item can be replaced for free.

The Best Choice Products Rolling Duffle Christmas Tree Storage Bag is another tree storage option we tested that fits trees up to 9 feet tall, retailing anywhere from $34 to $65. It comes equipped with interior straps to keep your tree from moving around, as well as roller wheels on one end of the bag to make moving it around easier. Like the Zober, this bag is made of a durable material that protects from dust, mildew, and rodents, and it is also tear-resistant. 

Compared to the Zober Christmas Tree Storage Bag, the Best Choice Products bag comes with a few extra features that run the price up. However, the difference that these features make is very little, making it only worth it if you have a tree over 7 feet or prefer something that looks a bit more sophisticated.
