    Zout Laundry Stain Remover

What began in the 1960s as a stain removal product for hospital laundries, Zout is now available to consumers. Zout is formulated with three enzymes to break down most types of everyday stains on washable clothes.

Zout can be used in all water temperatures - cold, warm and hot and is safe to use in high-efficiency washers as well as standard top load washers. The product can be used on most washable fabrics except silk, wool, cashmere and leather. The product is water-based, non-corrosive, non-flammable and biodegradable. Zout does not contain chlorine or bleach and is safe for all white and colorfast washable fabrics including children's sleepwear.

Before using, the colorfastness of the stained item should be tested especially if it has never been washed.

Apply a small amount of Zout to an inside seam or hem. Wait ten minutes and then wipe away the stain remover with a white paper towel. If color is transferred to the towel, do not use Zout to remove the stain from the fabric.

Zout is readily available online and on most mass market store's laundry product shelves.

Zout Laundry Stain Remover Product Review

We all know that treating stains immediately is the best way to remove them from fabric. But what we should do and what we actually do is usually quite different. I often find stains that I missed or forgot about when it's time to do laundry.

Zout was tested in a household laundry setting on typical family stains and it works very well thanks to the three enzyme formula. Each enzyme tackles a different type of stain (oil, protein, starch) to break it up and remove it from fibers. Zout was tested on a grease stain and a tomato sauce stain and both came out in the wash after following the directions. The product was sprayed on the stain and rubbed in with a soft bristled brush then allowed work for about five minutes and then laundered as usual. No stains!

For older, set-in stains, the product should be allowed to work on the stain longer - at least fifteen minutes - before washing. This gives the enzymes more time to work on tough stains. Always check a stained garment before tossing in a hot dryer. The heat from the dryer will make the stain much harder to remove when you repeat the stain removing steps.

Zout Laundry Stain Remover is recommended to find a spot on your laundry room shelf.
