Zumba Quick Start + 20 Minute Express should be the first DVD you try in the Zumba Incredible Results set if you're new to Zumba. Everything you need to know about this DVD, including calories burned, is in this Zumba Quick Start and 20 Minute Express review.

The DVD has two sections to it to help you get started. Quick Start is basically a crash course in learning the moves used in the Zumba Incredible Results workouts.

Merengue, cumbia, reggaeton, salsa and samba are all broken down for you so you don't have to wonder if you're doing the moves correctly as you move into the more advanced Zumba workouts.

This section of the DVD is a lot of start/stop movements and, while Zumba bills it as a workout, it's not one you'll do more than once. If you've ever been to a Zumba class or own Zumba's other DVDs, such as the Zumba Exhilarate set, you may not even use Quick Start at all.

20-Minute Express
Length: 20 minutes
Calories Burned: 264

If you're in a hurry and only have 20 minutes, 20 Minute Express is a quick way to burn off some calories. Instructor Nick Logrea makes this fast workout easy for newbies with his instruction, yet challenging for those who've done Zumba before.

The 20 Minute Express DVD is actually a great introduction to Zumba if it's your first time. Logrea breaks the workout down so you can get used to the moves of Zumba while also burning calories at the same time.

As you learn, you can really put a lot of energy into this workout to shed a lot of calories in a short amount of time. For Zumba veterans, you'll get similar calorie results to the Zumba Rush DVD from the Zumba Exhilarate DVD set. And if you have both sets, go with Zumba Rush over 20 Minute Express.

The music, tempo and instructors are a lot more fun.

In 20 Minute Express, Logrea talks a lot during the workout, which may annoy some of the diehard Zumba fans who are used to other workouts with minimal instruction. Unlike the other DVDs in the Zumba Incredible Results set, there's no way to turn off the verbal cues on the 20 Minute Express DVD. Personally, I don't mind Logrea's verbal cues. His upbeat and encouraging tone make the 20 minutes pass by quickly.

In between each song, a a Zumba animation rolls. It's brief and is a great marker for your DVD's skip function. So if there's a song you want to replay, just hit back on your DVD button and you'll be taken right to the animation right before that song. As you're getting started with this DVD, skipping back is a wonderful way to re-try that song you just learned.

As always, the music is amazing. You can't even watch this DVD without getting up and joining in.

You'll be dancing the mambo, cumbia, reggaeton, salsa and samba. And while 264 calories may not seem like a lot, keep in mind you're only doing this workout one-third of the time you would a full Zumba workout. So, do this workout three times for a full hour and you would burn off 792 calories.

Also, to compare, most DVDs from Shaun T's T25 set burn around 300 calories each so 20 Minute Express is right up there with other programs that promise amazing results with workouts that are under 30 minutes each. However, if you have 30 minutes, go for 30 Minute Burn from the Zumba Incredible Results set. For the extra 10 minutes, you can burn over 400 calories instead of about 250.
